Choose Shipping Method

The Online Store lets you set up your shipping choices using two rate methods: Custom Shipping Rates and Real-time Shipping Rates.

Custom Shipping offers three choices: Free Shipping, Flat Rate and Weight-based Shipping. Real-time shipping lets you get more accurate shipping rates automatically from your favorite carriers. (The U.S. Postal Service is now available; FedEx and UPS also are planned.)

  2. En tu lista de Productos haz clic en Tienda en línea, y luego en Administrar, junto a la cuenta que desees utilizar.
  3. In the Settings tab, click Shipping.
  4. Click Add for one of the shipping methods listed, if this is your first time using the page — or Add Shipping if you added another method earlier.

Custom Shipping Rates

You have three options for Custom Shipping Rates: Free Shipping, Flat Rate and Weight-based Shipping. Depending on your choice, the options include setting charges based on order amount, weight and destination. The Free Shipping method also enables you to set a minimum qualifying order amount — and a fixed shipping charge when the minimum is not met.

Free Shipping

Offering free shipping is a good way to increase your sales. Buyers love free shipping, and some buyers will only make a purchase when shipping is free. To maximize your profitability you could offer free shipping once an order total reaches a certain amount. This will encourage your buyers to add another item to get the free shipping.

The Free Shipping method with Online Store allows you to offer free shipping when an order reaches a certain amount, and that amount can be $0 so that shipping is always free. You can also set a fallback amount so that if the minimum order is not met the fallback amount will be charged.

To Set Details for Free Shipping

  1. After clicking Add Shipping or Add, use the Checkout display message field to enter the label you want customers to see for this shipping method.
    Enter Checkout display message
  2. Enter a minimum order total before free shipping is applied. The order total must reach this amount before free shipping is available to the customer.
  3. If you like, select If minimum not met, then charge each order and enter an amount in the adjacent field. If the order total does not reach the minimum amount entered in step 2, this amount will be the shipping charge.
  4. Click inside What countries/regions does this apply to? field to choose where the free shipping will be available. (If you choose United States, you can select which states are included.)
Click Save to apply your Free Shipping choices
  5. Click Save to apply your choices to the shipping method and return to the Shipping page.

Flat Rate

This shipping method lets you select a fixed amount or percentage for each order. Select Fixed Amount if you want to charge the same amount to ship each order, regardless of the order total. Select Fixed Percentage if you want to charge a percentage of the total order, so that the shipping charges increase as the order total increases.

To Set Details of Flat Rate Shipping

  1. After clicking Add Shipping or Add, use the Checkout display message field to enter the label you want customers to see for this shipping method.
  2. Select Fixed Amount or Fixed Percentage as the rate you want to apply to each order.
Choose a rate type, then enter charge
  3. Depending on your choice in Step 2, enter an amount or percentage in the Charge per order field.
  4. Click inside What countries/regions does this apply to? field to choose where the free shipping will be available. (If you choose United States, you can select which states are included.)
  5. Click Save to apply your choices to the shipping method and return to the Shipping page.

Weight Based Shipping

This shipping method lets you create multiple weight range-price options. For example, you can specify a $2 charge for orders that weigh between 0 and 4 lbs, and $3 for orders that weigh 4 lbs or more. See Agregar productos to add weights for each of your products.

To Set Weight Ranges for Shipping Rates

  1. After clicking Add Shipping or Add, use the Checkout display message field to enter the label you want customers to see for this shipping method.
  2. Click and up to set your first weight range.
  3. Enter a number in the first field and an amount in the adjacent Shipping cost field.
  4. Click the and up in the next line to set another weight range by repeating Step 3. (The starting weight for this next range is automatically adjusted based on your choice for the previous weight range.)
Set the weight range for each pricing tier
  5. Once you've set the weight range-prices you need, click inside What countries/regions does this apply to? field to choose where the free shipping will be available. (If you choose United States, you can select which states are included.)
  6. If you need to remove a weight range, click the trash can in that row.
  7. Click Save to apply your choices to the shipping method and return to the Shipping page.

Real-time Shipping Rates

Carrier calculated shipping lets you get more accurate shipping rates automatically from your favorite carriers. These rates are calculated based on your shipping address, the customer's shipping address, and the product's weight. For that reason, you'll first need to add the weight of every product you ship. See Agregar productos to add weights for each of your products.

USPS Real-time Shipping Rates

  1. After clicking Add Shipping, the Real-time Shipping Rates section is added to your list of shipping methods.
    Choose a Real-time Shipping Option
  2. Click Add for United States Postal Service (USPS).
  3. You'll be asked to enter your Zip code. This information helps ensure the accuracy of the shipping rate. (This option is available only if your shipping address is based in the United States.) When you're done, Click OK.
    Enter your Zip code
  4. Select which of the Domestic and International USPS shipping methods you want to offer. (By default, all the Domestic choices are selected and none of the International.)
